i was browsing for some finger food idea for the department's friday party dinner and came accross DIYnetwork.
instead of a satisfied list of finger food, i found the Room Planner that they have under Living section is quite a good tool to customize house's floor plan. A tiny drawback of this planner is that all rooms and places are assumed to be in rectangle sharp with 4 corners.
anyway, this tool came in just in time for me to give my room a makeover. :)

I want to dive both in the sea and the sky..
just found out there're some sky diving clubs in M'sia.
- Skydive Malaysia
- Skydive Club Segamat
- Air Trash Malaysia

there's a course for beginner (static line progression course) with a duration of 2 days and cost RM550(1 jump) or RM850 (2 jumps). the price included facilities and the learning material.

anyone interested in sky dive?

Cinema

- there's tickets (for international screen movie) given free to them.

These made me decided to bring them to cinema today. it's fun going to cinema with them (for the first time) eventhough they still prefer watching tv at home with full privacy and freedom of switching channels.

before meeting him in person, i'm had eatten the buah tangan he brought back from his bizz trip.
this Manila made cheese bun look nice, it taste nice too when u bite the bun and the cheese together.. dun tell anybody, i actually ate the upper half of the bun where there are cheese coverage.. haha.. :P

in Chinese, it's called 侘寂.
its concept: nothing lasts, nothing is finished and nothing is perfect.

even if there are lots of things which i haven't have chance to try it, i don't regret. at least i hav done things which i like thus far. due to the imperfect, impermanent, and incomplete nature, i'll continue trying out things which i want and like to do whenever i could.
plan must coupled with action, or plan will be forever a virtuality.

floating book fair

The world's oldest passenger ship MV Doulos is here in Malaysia. It will be here at Port Klang for from June 28 June till 1st August and then it will be at Pasir Gudang for 12 days till 15 August. it will spend another 10 days and leave to Thailand on 27 August.

the first attempt i made to enter casino was at the age of 20. and i failed naturally.. :(
so, in the following year, i tried again, and successful made my way in without any identity verification. (gosh, they can really estimate ppl's age correctly.)
after years, yesterday, i accompanied my grandma into the 'gambling heaven' again. and guess what, i was asked for my IC at the entrance. out of all three times i enter casino from different entrance at different time, i was asked for identity verification for all the three times, by different security personnel at different entrance.. i can't helped but to ask the 3rd security personnel, "may i know why?".
"saya ingat u mudah lagi." he replied after comparing the actual me and the me in my IC.

i'll try thier estimation skill again later. hehe...

Today is World Blood Donors Day and it started since 2004.

i find these facts rather interesting,
~ donated blood's life span is 42 days.
~ AB is the unversal recipient & O- is the universal donor. (i'm having none of these 2 blood types)
~ Malaysia's blood centre often run short of type O and B blood.
~ one half litre of blood can save up to 3 ppl's lives.

so, if u are a healthy person no lighter than 45kg, u should get some blood donated. there will be a National Blood Donation Drive on this Friday (16th June, 2006) at IOI Mall.

ok, i was driving and listening to an interview of a singer over the radio station some 30 minutes ago. The usage of English term in the Cantonese is so much that it caught my attention. It’s understandable that there are moments when we run short of vocabulary. Being lazy, I myself always use English term when I converse in Chinese cos I dun want to crack my head for words. But, I find it rather unbearable for the listener. Sorry for all whom I have talked to, for all the ‘rojak’ that I brought to u. I’ll try my best to be 100% in the language that I converse in from now on. :P

flies

i came accross this unusual phenomenon some 15 minutes ago. there are thousands of flies partying at the petrol station (under its bright lights). i never knew and expected such scene in town area where the surrounding area are the residential area and industrial area with limited greenery.
i hav no idea what this kind of flies are named, but, i think it's some kind of ant flies.. anyway, it's a horrible scene. only if my car petrol tank is not empty, i wouldn't have step out of my car or stay any longer there... scary...

Ice Wine

haha.. it seems i hav been coming in touch with alcohol recently. usually i'll just hav a few sips of alcoholic drink. but, yesterday i couldn't resist myself and had a few shots of this cool wine brought back with my aunts.
i must say that i like this wine very much though i'm not a drinker, not even a social drinker.
Ice wine is another kind of grape wine made during winter season from fermented grape juice where its grape is frozen at the degree of -10. that's how the name of 'ICE wine' come from. cool huh..
the ice wine we had yesterday is Inniskillin, product of Canada.
get me a bottle if u were to come accross it at any DFS. remember to get the golden packaging bottle. thanks. :)

creativity in vodka

went to Telawi Street Bistro, Bangsar yesterday night for a farewell to a German friend. it has nice ambience.
we first ordered pizza to fill our stomach. a variety of topping are available to be choosen from. and i find that the smoked salmon topping tasted quite good.

we then ordered 1 spanking boards of 5 vodka shots. flavor range from fruity sweet to something exotic like chilipadi and wasabi. the 1st board, we had 1 chilipadi, 1 mango, 1 peach, 1 banana, 1 lychee. i tasted the chilipadi (more of a touge touch) and it's killingly spicy. 2nd spanking boards of it was called upon, with 4 wasabi and 1 mango. the one who bottoms up chilipadi earlier on find his stomach Rock & Roll after the wasabi shot. guess too adventerous. the others nearly teared out.

they serves colorful rainbow vodka too where straw are needed to drink it layer by layer. will try it out the next time i go.

Putrajaya

yesterday night, leaving 1st station cafe after a quick drink, we went to Putrajaya, wanting to check out its night view. of all the 8 magnificent bridges connected each Precinct to another, we stop at the signature bridge (Seri Wawasan Bridge), linking Precinct 2 and Precinct 8. it's really a beautiful place for peaceful and quiet moment. it was cooling and windy yesterday, maybe just after rain. it's a totally different atmosphere from 1st station. maybe i was not into merry evening after being high-spirit for the past few days... i felt relax and refreshing having the wind 'splashing' lightly on my face and being able to look out far off at those beautifully lighted building and the futuristic Seri Saujana Bridge. i'm going to check out its other bridges the second time i go to Putrajaya for its night view.

KLCC sky bridge

happened to pass by the board showing the direction to skybridge this morning at level 41 of KLCC Tower 2. but i couldn't step on the bridge as i was told that there're procedures to gain permit to cross.

[as a visitor]: registration needs to be done at the concourse level of KLCC for the visit of sky bridge. the skybridge visiting hour is 9am to 5pm everyday. each visit is 15 minutes long. : if u want to secure urself a visit, u should queue up for registration before 9am. most the time, passes will be finished distributed by 10am++.

[as a tenant of KLCC twin tower]: email requesting for passes are required.

this 41st Floor skybridge is open from Tues - Sun, 9am to 4:30pm.

PJ Half Marathon

the PJ Half Marathon will be held on 18th June, 2006.
closing date is Friday, 26th May, 2006.

its banner was spotted when i was on my way submitting the "Spirit of KL" registration form at Menara Star lobby. it reminded me of my first 10km run. it was 26th June, 2006. the main objective of participating the run is to test our stamina and sort of to train ourselves for the Mount Kinabalu expedition a month later. it's not easy for me as i'm not a regular exerciser. throughout the whole run, i'm telling myself to keep on going, run and walked, run and walked jogged and walked. to hav distraction to my mind from thinking of my aching muscle, i hav some mental target during running. i follow somebody who's consistant, relax only when he/she does and try to overtake so to change target if possible. (kiasu behaviour) or u can call it some healthy challenges to oneself.

i headed to the booths giving out icy cool milo and 100plus immediately when i was told i hav completed the run. it was such a cooling pleasure which overwhelm my own achievement's satisfactory for completing my first 10km run. :P

we sat down on the field for the prize giving ceremony... suddenly the MC called out my name, what could it be? i won something? could it be consolation prize? but, i was not any of the outdid runner... before the next "?" come into my mind. "Please come to the stage and collect your IC", said the MC. gosh, such a careless mistake i made! shyly and reluctantly i collected back my IC and dashed back to my place. it was my first time letting my IC slipped away from my pocket, and it should be the last time, too.

ok, back to PJ Half Marathon. men (18 years & above) needs to run 21 km. lucky for women (18 years & above), having a chioce of taking the full course or the 10km route. hehe... needless to say, i'll take the 'privilege', at the same time to mark as my first 10km anniversary. any kaki (activity partner) joining?

Orange Day

14th Febraury, Valentine's Day - women give gifts to men
i don't hav to further elaborate this, do i? but, in Malaysia, couples exchange gift and usually girls will be treated with extra pamper today.

14th March, White Day - men reply with gifts for the women
Originally called Marshmallow Day. This holiday is said to begin 40 years ago when a marshmallow maker started marketing to men that they should return the favor to women who gave them gift a month ago by giving the women marshmallow.

14th April, Orange Day - Boyfriend and Girlfriend confirm thier love by exchaning oranges or orange colored gift. The inquiry of making today for the citrus growers' farming produce was made 10 years ago. Today is also the Partner Day where men and women show thier mutual respect for each other. (mutual respect to each other should be shown everyday, isn't it?)

The good things i can think of about these festive holidays are to boost economy activities and encourage interhuman interaction. but, one thing for sure is that, Oranges will very expensive during the Orange Day, just like roses selling at doubled or tripled price during Valentine's Day. the White Day and Orange Day will soon spead to other country including Malaysia. so, girls, we are in luck as we will receive gift on 14th of February, March and April every year. wondering if there will be some holiday coming soon for 14th May? :P

the oriental dance

the first thing i felt the minute i woke up this morning, is my muscles at my waist and troso... that's the side effect from the Belly dance i first joined yesterday. but, it will not stop me from going to the 2nd lesson this coming sunday. :P I find the dance unique, something new, fun and exciting. Farah, the instructor can really move her hip. she's friendly and attentive too. the belly dance hip scarf clinking heat up the class's atmosphere. i''m thinking of geting one for myself soon after i get the trick of the dance, so i can be more Belly dancer the next time i do belly dance. :P
the first thing i learned from the class is hip circling. it's not as easy as to moved the hip in circle direction alone, it should be done in grace. it's a good cardio-vascular workout and said to aid relieving the common discomforts of labor. the accent i get from this oriental dance is that it helps develop the ability to move various muscles independently. for example, the shimmy where body is held still except the shoulders alternated back and forth. this is particularly a challenge to me, a stiff newbie. but, i find Belly dance interesting, maybe i just hav passion in dances.
looking forward to the next lesson...

i attended the Perdana Discourse Series of the theme "Political Stability".
this is my first time having the honour listening to YABhg. Tun Dr. Mahathir's speech in real person.

i'm really not into politic, but i enjoyed the session mainly because not only he's able to deliver his message to layman, but he relieve the tension of the theme with his humor.
something which i could still recalled from the session goes like this,
coalition leads to sharing, sharing causes sacrifice and unhappiness, but minimal unhappiness helps to create stability, and stability are one of the fundation to development.

i totally agree that despite the sacrifice and unhappiness, sharing creates synergy which enable improvement. but how much to sacrifice?
